That means checking the throttle body gasket, the BOV flange, and the welds on the intercooler core itself.
We also spent time on wastegate adjustment. The question was not how to turn the rod, but how to explain preload in a way that makes sense when you are under the car with a hand pump and a set of feeler gauges. The answer we landed on: show the relationship between actuator pressure and boost curve, then let the reader measure their own baseline before touching anything. That way the adjustment is a correction, not a guess.
The session ended with a decision about intercooler flow efficiency. We are planning a comparison of core designs, measuring pressure drop across a bar-and-plate versus a tube-and-fin unit at the same flow rate. It will not be a dyno test, but a bench test with a manometer and a shop vac, which is something any garage can replicate.
